About Macedonia Christian Church

About Us

Rooted in Christ Since 1881

Introduction

Welcome to Macedonia Christian Church (MCC)! We're dedicated to sharing the love of Jesus Christ with our community, serving as a beacon of hope for all. Our church family is built on a foundation of loving Christ and loving our neighbors. We're not just a place for traditions and rituals – we're a vibrant community where people can connect, grow, and develop their God-given gifts to honor Him.

We invite you to explore our various ministries, designed to help you deepen your faith, form lasting friendships, and discover your purpose. At MCC, we believe that a growing faith in Jesus and nurturing relationships with family and friends are the keys to a fulfilling life. Our desire is to be a source of hope, encouragement, and inspiration, guiding you toward what truly matters – being part of God's family.

Our History

The Macedonia Christian Church has a rich history that spans over 147 years, dating back to 1881 when it was first planted. Initially, the church was part of the Disciples of Christ movement, but in the 1960s, it decided to become an independent Christian church. Throughout its history, the church has remained rooted in its community, located on Highway 17A in Macedonia.

As you walk around the church property, you'll notice a cemetery with headstones bearing the names of individuals who dedicated their lives to spreading the gospel message of hope through Jesus. These individuals have left a lasting legacy, and their commitment to sharing the message of Christ continues to inspire generations.

Over the years, the church has been led by several preachers, but one name stands out - Larry Bradberry. From December 1966 to September 2023, Mr. B served as the church's shepherd, preacher, and elder. During his 56-year tenure, he ministered to the community, getting to know each family's unique history and connections. His dedication to the church and its members has been a cornerstone of the community.

At its core, Macedonia Christian Church is built on the principle of being part of the family of God. Family is woven deep into the church's fabric, and to be part of this family, one must understand what it means to be in a relationship with God and with one another. This requires forgiveness, just as Jesus forgives us, and showing admiration to neighbors and adoration to God. It also means being willing to learn, mature, and mentor others in Christ.

To be part of this church family, one must be willing to invest in others, always learning and growing to become more like Jesus. There's always an open chair at the dinner table, inviting someone new to join. Encouragement is embedded in the church's DNA, and members strive to serve others rather than seeking to be served.

  • We believe God is the creator of all things. (Genesis 1:1)
  • We believe Jesus is God's Son and the Savior of the world. (John 3:16)
  • We believe the Holy Spirit lives within every follower of Jesus and equips each follower for ministry. (John 16:5-15)

  • We believe Jesus died, was raised to life after three days, and will return to rescue us. (1 Corinthians 15:3-4)
  • We believe salvation comes by grace through faith in Jesus. (Romans 5:8-11)
  • We believe faith is expressed through hearing God's plan for salvation, believing Jesus is God's Son, confessing our need for Jesus' work on the cross, repenting of our sin, being immersed in the waters of baptism, and living an obedient life. (Acts 2:38|Romans 6:1-7|2 Peter 3:9)

    • Meet together regularly for fellowship, worship, teaching, and the Lord's Supper.
    • Use our natural abilities and spiritual gifts to serve God and one another.
    • Love one another, bear with one another, accept one another, and forgive one another.
